Growing up in a wine making family was a great adventure for Neil. Even at the age of five he could be seen playing in 750 gallon wine casks following his oldest brother Brian as he went to fix any leaks.
From those early days, Neil has committed himself to delivering innovation and producing great Australian wines, being acclaimed in 1985 by restaurateur and wine merchant, Johnny Walker as “the most brilliant young winemaker of his time”.
After studying and graduating with a degree in Oenology in South Australia, Neil joined brother Brian as a winemaker and then proceeded to work at a number of the Hunter Valley’s most acclaimed and well known wineries. He then teamed back up with brother Brian to become General Manager of production and wine supply at McGuigan Wines where he still oversees the viticulture and winemaking teams today.
